Spires are Locations in Tyranny. They operate as bases for you and your party. As you explore the world, you will come across several structures known as Spires. Claiming one of these unlocks several beneficial features for your character.

Spires Features

  • Reduction in travel time: Each spire is connected to the others, so you can teleport between the ones you control, cutting down on your overworld travel
  • Upgrades: You can spend money to upgrade your Spire, providing different bonuses to your party. You get every benefit you upgrade when resting at any of your Spires.
  • Hiring Recruits: Once you've upgraded you can hire recruits to work on that upgrade. These recruits can train your party Skills, sell unique Weapons and Armor and make new items for you while you're out hard at work spreading misery.
  • You can recruit people from different Factions in the game including ones that hate you if you've got the coin. Others are available depending on the choice you make during the game's dynamic opening Conquest prologue.

Upgrading Spires

Aside from the Mountain Spire each Spire has 4 possible upgrades. Each upgrade can only be built once and is permanent. Upgrades cost money monthly to maintain and if you can't pay you can't enjoy the benefits of the upgrade until you're current. So pay your debts! The following are the upgrades you can make:

  • Infirmary: Offers the option to brew own Potions and Poisons.
  • Library: The library enables research into SigilsArtifacts, Potions, Equipment, and Edicts.
  • Forge: The forge allows crafting and upgrading WeaponsArmor and unique Artifacts.
  • Training Grounds: Guves access to Naster Skill trainers.

Library

Once built, resting in any Spire grants a bonus to Lore and all Magic skills. Also allows the "Edict of Malediction" to be researched, which is far more powerful than the others.
