Artifacts in Tyranny are powerful Weapons and Armor. Artifacts have their own progression in the form of their own reputation bar. Equipping the artifact gains an Artifact Ability for the character. As you use it you build reputation for the artifact and the more reputation it has, the more powerful the ability that it grants you becomes.
